Joana Dos Santos Baptista was born June 5, 1926, in Nossa Senhora do Monte Brava, Cabo Verde. She was widowed by Manuel Baptista, they shared nine beautiful children. She leaves behind three daughters Sidalia Baptista, Maria Baptista, Candinha Baptista, five sons, Jose Baptista, Antonio Baptista, Viriato Baptista, Joao Baptista, and Adriano Baptista. She also leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

On November 19, 1988, she migrated to the United States and worked tremendously so she can send for her children who later joined her in 1995. Joana was loved by all and known for her abundance of love and energy she shared with everyone. She was also known by so many in the Cape Verdean Community. On Thursday July 21 at 1:25 am she transitioned at home accompanied by her beloved family. She will be missed by all forever and may the Lord give everlasting peace to her soul.

We welcome family and friends to calling hours Sunday, July 24th from 2pm-5pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place Monday, July 25th at Immaculate Heart of Mary 291 High Street, Pawtucket RI at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Riverside.
